🌱 Spring in the Valley
April – MayVermont's quiet season, and its sweetest. Sugarhouses are boiling maple sap, the crowds are gone, and on a good year you can ski in the morning and sit on a porch in the afternoon.

April can swing from snow flurries to 70 °F in the same week. Dirt roads and trailheads get soft, so waterproof footwear is the move.

🍁 Fall Foliage Season
September – NovemberSouthern Vermont in peak color is the postcard everyone imagines. Foliage usually peaks here from late September through mid-October, and the house sits right in the middle of it.

First snow dustings on the summit often arrive by late October. Mornings are cold and afternoons glorious, so dress in layers.

- Foliage drive on Route 100our roadThis is the foliage drive people cross state lines for, and it runs right through West Dover. Head north toward Weston or south toward Wilmington and just keep going.

A few practical notes to make your stay easy.
🛒 Groceries & Supplies
The nearest full supermarket is Shaw's in Wilmington (~10 min). Smaller markets and a hardware store sit along Route 100 in West Dover. Stock up before Friday evening in winter; it gets busy.
📶 Cell Service
Coverage in the valley is spotty. You're in the mountains, and that's part of the charm. The house Wi-Fi is your friend; download maps and playlists before you drive up.
🚗 Winter Driving
Roads are plowed quickly, but snow tires or AWD are strongly recommended December through March. Give yourself extra time on storm days, and enjoy them. That's the good stuff.

On holiday weekends, reserve early: lift tickets and rentals at Mount Snow, dinner reservations, and snowmobile tours can all sell out.

Quiet hours after 10pm, please; sound carries in the valley. And keep an eye out for wildlife on the roads at dusk, especially deer and the occasional moose.
